    JUNIOR ANALYST – HELP DESK Comp #30177

    To meet the increasing IT service delivery demands of a growing and dynamic public service organization, Special Areas Board, is seeking a qualified and self-motivated individual for the position of Junior Analyst.
    The successful candidate will play a key role in the implementation, maintenance and support of Special Areas Board’s hardware and software infrastructure, be super organized, eager to take initiative and work independently within a team.

    Key Responsibilities Include:

    Reporting to the Systems Analyst, this position is responsible for the maintenance and support of Special Areas Board’s (SAB’s) client endpoint experience; ensures endpoints are compliant and secure. Monitors system operations and performance. Completes computer and assists with network installations and provides ongoing support; provides desktop support for both hardware and software.

    • Provides support and assistance to all Special Areas Board (SAB) staff regarding computer and technology related issues, including staff training/orientation in areas of technology.
    • Focuses on desktop, laptop, iOS, VoIP phone, printers and end user support to SAB departments and District Offices.
    • Effectively diagnoses, troubleshoots, and tracks desktop hardware and software issues via telephone or at the client’s worksite.
    • Ensures the computer systems and networks remain operational.
    • Uses the SAB Helpdesk Ticketing software to properly track support requests.
    • Trains staff and creates tutorials to help staff achieve common goals with technology.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum Grade 12 plus the completion of an accredited post-secondary IT or computer science program. A combination of experience and related training will be considered
    • Minimum one (1) year experience in the Information Technology field, preferably in the public sector is preferred
    • Fluency in supporting Windows 10/11 in a networked corporate environment
    • Experience in troubleshooting printers both networked and directly connected
    • Must be able to lift and maneuver devices up to 55 lbs., comfortable working with ladders and rooftops on occasion
    • First rate communication skills: written and verbal skills, strong public relation skills, organization abilities and proven attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and initiative.
    • Valid Alberta Drivers License (Class 5 minimum)
    • PowerShell, Scripting Languages, SQL Databases, GIS, particularly ESRI software; administering SharePoint, Office 365
    • Proficient with iOS devices and managing them with MDM (Intune or CISCO)
    • Programming languages such as python, or C#; troubleshooting application errors
    • Upon commencement, the successful candidate will provide a Criminal Records Check

    Salary Range: • Annual Salary starting at $55,396 – $79,876 depending upon experience, education and training
